Adam Masina is seeking personal improvement, while hoping Watford gain enough confidence to produce better performances.
Speaking ahead of a potentially tough trip to Stoke City tomorrow evening, the full-back said he was focused on improving his attacking contributions, but also that the team needed to have better self-belief to play to the standard he believes they are capable of.
“I’m really looking forward to having a good performance and good results for us in turn,” said Masina.
“Personally I’m waiting to improve my offensive side at the moment, because behind the team is helping me a lot and I’m trying to help the team in the defensive side, but in the offensive side I think we maybe have to find a solution. In this moment, maybe I’m missing something.
“I think the team is in a good way, we have just to try to play more. We are already starting to play football with the ball on the floor. We can do it because I think we have the quality and we have already started. I think we will be ready to understand that we are a good team, and get the confidence to increase. I think we can have really good performances with possession, which has already increased.”
Masina also feels this weekend's game, followed by next week's trip to Millwall, is the perfect opportunity for the Hornets to address their faltering away form.
So far this season they have won just twice on the road, at Derby and Birmingham, and the defender knows their away form could be the difference between them getting promoted or spending another season in the Championship.
“I think we know the two games are going to be finals, because we have to find a solution to our weakness away from home," he said. "But I think we're in a good way, we showed something in Swansea and I'm really optimistic about this.
"Maybe I think we had too many mistakes in the past, but now we have to find a solution because I think to bounce back into the Premier League, we have to go through these obstacles in these away games."
