Udinese defender William Troost-Ekong will arrive in England tomorrow ahead of a move to Watford.
The Hornets have had a move for the Nigerian international planned for some time and the Watford Observer understands the deal will finally go ahead this week.
The defender has played in England before during his youth career, when he spent time at both Fulham and Tottenham and has 42 international caps.
He has said goodbye to his teammates and is set to complete a permanent move from the fellow Pozzo-owned club.
Head coach Vladimir Ivic has previously described the 27-year-old as a "quality player" and said after the goalless draw at Sheffield Wednesday: "I know him as a quality player and he will be one of the players who will help us in the future, if he will come, if he will join us."
