Black Lives Matter shirts like the ones worn by Premier League players for the first 12 games of the league's restart are being raffled on eBay to raise money for the Stephen Lawrence Charitable Foundation, which supports young people from the BAME community.

The raffle started at 10pm last night and tickets will cost £5 per entry before it ends on Monday June 29, with winners selected at random and notified by July 17.

This will be the second Players Together raffle since the league's restart, with the 'Shirts for Heroes' campaign raising over £1million for the NHS.

Shirts are available for each team and will be signed by the team.

Watford captain Troy Deeney launched the second raffle, this time called 'Shirts for Change'.

He said: “I am proud to launch the ‘Shirts for Change’ raffle with #PlayersTogether on eBay UK to raise vital funds for the Stephen Lawrence Charitable Foundation, a charity which stands for equal opportunity for all, despite race or background.

"Put simply, we do not stand for racism on the pitch, in society or anywhere else it rears its ugly head. I hope that this will be a great way for fans to help support a fantastic cause, give them a chance to own a special and symbolic shirt, and raise a huge amount of money in the process.”

Sonia Watson, chief executive of the Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust, said: “A lot has changed since Stephen Lawrence’s murder in a racist attack in 1993, but recent events have demonstrated that racism is very much still an issue in modern day society and more work is needed in tackling inequality, whether in the US or our own country.

"The outpouring of support for the black community has been absolutely incredible, but we need to turn this passion into action. We all have the power to make a difference, and are grateful to #PlayersTogether for providing the opportunity for people across the UK to support us by entering the Shirts for Change raffle on eBay.

"The money raised will help us continue to work to support communities and inspire and enable young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to succeed in a career of their choice, so we are calling on the millions of football fans to get involved in this raffle for an important cause, while having the chance to win one of these specially-designed shirts.”
