Former Watford head coach Marco Silva has said he is hoping to manage in the Premier League again, following his sacking at Everton at the end of last year.

The Portuguese manager initially impressed on his arrival in the English top flight with Hull City, before he moved to Vicarage Road after the Tigers' relegation.

He lasted half a year with the Hornets, but lost focus following an approach from the Toffees, with Watford claiming an "unwarranted approach by a Premier League rival" had caused "significant deterioration in both focus and results to the point where the long-term future of Watford FC has been jeopardised."

Silva failed to live up to expectations on Merseyside and was sacked after Everton dropped into the relegation zone in December 2019.

However, he believes he still has more to offer in England and told Sky Sports he wants to return and show he is a "better manager".

"No doubts it is my aim to manage in the Premier League," he said.

"I love the Premier League. I have managed three different clubs in the Premier League and it's the toughest competition in the world.

"We have many things to keep proving in the Premier League and it is something I'm looking for in my future. I don't know if it will be soon or not, but of course it's my aim.

"There is no doubts I am a better manager now. I remember when I joined the first club in the Premier League what I had to prove in that moment. I took a risk with Hull because the club was not I the best position in the table.

"But it was a fantastic period for me. And when I go again, I have to prove again - because you have to prove yourself every day in football. For sure I have to be a better manager now."
