Watford have named Eric Roy as their new sporting director.
The Frenchman worked for Nice in the same role as the one he is undertaking at Vicarage Road and also managed the club.
He played in England with Sunderland, making 27 appearances between 1999 and 2000.
L'equipe report that the 52-year-old met with club representatives on Tuesday.
A story posted to the club website states that Roy will be responsible for the day to day operation and administration of the training ground, reporting directly to Filippo Giraldi, the club's technical director.
