Ben Wilmot has left Watford and joined Swansea City on loan for the upcoming season, it has been confirmed.

The defender spent the second half of last season on loan with Italian side Udinese and recently said he would be happy to head out on loan again to gain more experience.

Speaking to the club website during their trip to Austria, he said: "I want to play as much football as I can. I would love it if I could play a lot here, but if I need to play elsewhere to get the games that I need then I'll do it."

The deal was completed and announced on Thursday morning.
