Jerome Sinclair will spend next season on loan at Dutch club VVV-Venlo, Watford have confirmed.
The move had been on the cards after Oxford United manager Karl Robinson, who had been keen to sign the 22-year-old on a temporary basis again, revealed he expected the forward to move to the Netherlands.
"We believe Jerome is going to Holland, even though we offered more than the Dutch club," Robinson told the Witney Gazette.
“We did everything we had to do. We were told if we matched that (the Dutch offer) then it would be done.
“We more than matched it, so I was really happy with the fact the board had that clout to do so.”
Sinclair has struggled to make an impact at Watford since moving from Liverpool in the summer of 2016 and has been limited to three starts and nine substitute appearances in all competitions.
Following a loan spell at Birmingham City in 2017, he made a temporary switch to Sunderland in the first part of last season before moving to Oxford in January where he scored four times in 16 league appearances.
Sinclair will now spend the whole of next season at the Dutch outfit, who finished 12th in the Eredivisie in the 2018/19 campaign.
