Barcelona defender Jean-Clair Todibo is unlikely to join Watford this summer, the Watford Observer has been told.
Reports had emerged earlier in the summer that Gino Pozzo and Filippo Giraldi had travelled to Catalonia to open discussions with the club about potentially signing the youngster.
However, it was understood that Barcelona wanted to assess the player in pre-season before coming to any decisions about his future.
The 19-year-old had found playing time difficult to come by with Ernesto Valverde's side and made just two appearances following his January move to the La Liga champions.
It is believed that a loan move had been mooted, but reports emerged on Tuesday that suggested the player was not keen on a move to either Watford or the Premier League in general, as he considers it too difficult a division to develop in.
As a result, it is now understood that the player will focus his attentions on a move elsewhere.
