Watford remain in talks with Heurelho Gomes over whether he will remain at Vicarage Road, the Watford Observer understands.
The 38-year-old’s Hornets contract expires at the end of this month and he had said in March that he was “99 per cent sure” he would hang up his gloves after this season had ended.
However, head coach Javi Gracia and Ben Foster have been among those to express their wish that Gomes doesn't call it a day yet and following the FA Cup final the popular Brazilian admitted he had still not decided whether to retire.
Asked if he had made a final decision over his future, Gomes said: “No, not yet.
"I have got to speak to the club and the club want to speak with me, so I will listen to them and see what is going to happen.
"If I am still able to do something for this club I will do it. But we need to speak, calm down and sit next week and see what the decision is."
We have been told talks between both parties remain ongoing.
