Slavisa Jokanovic is to be interviewed for the Middlesbrough manager vacancy within the next 24 hours, Sky Sports are reporting.
The Teesside team are looking for a new boss after they parted ways with Tony Pulis when he failed to get them into the Championship play-offs.
Jokanovic's first English managerial role was at Vicarage Road in the 2014-15 season, where he guided the Hornets back to the Premier League before he was replaced by Quique Sanchez Flores.
He later returned to the Championship with Fulham, who he also took into the top flight following a play-off final victory over Aston Villa.
Odds on the former Watford boss taking over at the Riverside have fallen to as low as 6/4, however former Boro defender Jonathan Woodgate is also believed to still be in the running and remains favourite with bookies to be given the job.
