Craig Pawson will take charge of Watford for the first time this season when the Hornets travel to Newcastle United on Saturday.
The experienced Yorkshire official’s last match involving the Golden Boys came in April, when he oversaw the 1-0 away defeat to Huddersfield Town, as Tom Ince popped up in stoppage time to secure the Terriers a last gasp win.
Pawson was also the man in the middle for Watford’s 3-0 win over Bristol City in the FA Cup last season, which remains their only victory under the 39-year-old’s watch since they returned to the Premier League in May 2015.
The Yorkshire referee has officiated ten matches in all competitions this campaign, handing out 42 yellow cards and three red.
This weekend’s game will be Pawson’s second Premier League match in a row, after he took charge of Chelsea’s 4-0 win over Burnley on Sunday.
