Marouane Fellaini is an injury doubt for Manchester United’s visit to Vicarage Road next Saturday after pulling out of the Belgium squad.
The midfielder, who was heavily praised by Jose Mourinho after his side secured a 2-0 win at Burnley on Sunday, is struggling with a knee injury.
It is a complaint which the 30-year-old has been nursing for the past 18-months and could well see him miss the clash with the Hornets.
The news comes at a bad time for United as they look to rebuild their season after a poor start to the campaign.
They will still be able to call upon Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic and summer signing Fred for the game against Watford.
The Hornets will go into the clash in high spirits after winning all four of their Premier League games so far this term and are six points clear of United.
