Belgium manager Roberto Martinez has been impressed with Christian Kabasele’s form this season despite opting to leave the Watford man out of his latest squad.
The centre-back has been pivotal in helping the Hornets win all four of their Premier League games, forming a strong partnership at the heart of defence with Craig Cathcart.
Despite his fine showings, the 27-year-old is not part of Martinez’s plans for the Red Devils’ upcoming clashes with Scotland and Iceland.
The former Everton manager has, nonetheless, been impressed with Kabasele and says the Watford man could well feature in the future.
“I chose the same central defenders who were in the World Cup squad, he told reporters in Belgium.
“I also know that Kabasele has [made] very good progress. We continue to follow him, but for these matches, the intention was to have the four new guys. Of course, Kabasele comes into consideration for next time.”
