Watford have made a late Deadline Day capture, beating the clock to sign Domingos Quina from West Ham United.
The 18-year-old attacking midfielder has signed a four-year deal at Vicarage Road, with the Hornets having an option to extend the contract for the Portugese Under-20 international for a further 12 months.
The move was not completed by the 5pm deadline, but the Hornets did submit a deal sheet to the Premier League which gave them an additional two hours to complete the paperwork required to get the transfer over the line.
Born in Guinea-Bissau, Quina was formerly with the Benfica and Chelsea youth set-ups before moving to the Hammers in May 2016.
A regular in the West Ham youth team, Quina made his professional debut at the start of the 2016/17 campaign, featuring twice in his former club’s Europa League campaign.
The player, who had been linked with Barcelona last week, moves to the Hornets fresh from a successful summer helping Portugal to win last month’s European Championships.
