It is 12-years to the day since Watford secured promotion to the Premier League in 2006.
A memorable 3-0 win over Leeds United at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium in the Championship Play-off final took the Hornets into the Premier League for only the second time on their history.
Jay DeMerit’s powerful header opened the scoring before the unfortunate Neil Sullivan turned into his own net and Darius Henderson completed the triumph with a well-taken penalty.
The win capped a fine season under Aidy Boothroyd and saw the Hornets return to the top tier after six years away.
While the following Premier League campaign ended in the disappointment of relegation, victory over United in Wales will live long in the minds of many a Watford fan.
