Former Watford boss Marco Silva is being lined up to replace David Moyes at West Ham United, according to reports in Spain.
Moyes, who only took the London Stadium job in November last year, is said to be on borrowed time by Spanish news outlet Marca after failing to turn around the club’s ailing fortunes.
The Hammers are just two points above the Premier League drop zone in 17th spot and Moyes’ position will be in jeopardy regardless of if he secures survival.
Silva has been without a club since being dismissed by Watford in January after just 26 games in charge of the Vicarage Road club.
He is believed to still be negotiating a severance payment with the Hornets, having been given his marching orders in the wake of an approach from Everton, which the Portuguese refused to distance himself from.
The Hornets started brightly under Silva’s leadership and spent the early part of the campaign in and around the top four.
However, a steep downturn in form saw Watford win just one league game between the end of November and his departure at the tail end of January.
He has since been linked with a number of clubs, including Southampton, West Brom, Everton and Benfica.
