Andre Carrillo’s permanent move to Watford this summer could be off, despite Benfica’s president claiming a €20 million was likely to be agreed.
Luis Filipe Vieira recently revealed that the winger would extend his stay at Vicarage Road upon the completion of his loan deal at the end of the season.
However, reports from Portugal now suggest such a move could be off the table after Carrillo fell down the pecking order at Watford.
The 26-year-old was a regular starter under Marco Silva, but has struggled for game time since the Portuguese boss was sacked by the Hornets.
Gerard Deulofeu’s arrival on loan until the end of the season has of course had an impact on Carrillo’s game time, with Javi Gracia favouring the Spaniard and Richarlison in wide areas.
An injury to Deulofeu, who revealed he will be sidelined for some time, has opened the door once again for Carrillo and he will hope to re-establish himself in the Watford side.
