Watford captain Troy Deeney has until tomorrow evening to respond to a Football Association charge of violent conduct after putting hands on the face of Stoke City's Joe Allen during Saturday's match at Vicarage Road.
The news means that referee Michael Oliver's report must have made clear the official did not see the full extent of the incident at the time, for which both players received yellow cards.
Allen himself has since laughed off the incident and while Hornets head coach Marco Silva made no comment, Stoke manager Mark Hughes said he expected the altercation to be investigated.
Deeney will receive an automatic three-match ban if he does not fight the charge, which would rule him out of Watford's games against Everton, West Ham and Newcastle.
He has until 6pm tomorrow (Tuesday) to respond.
