Watford under-23s named Portsmouth’s Harvey Bradbury as a trialist as they claimed a 2-0 win over Crew Alexandra.

Ogo Obi opened the scoring for the Hornets in the 83rd minute before Dion Pereira, who has been on the bench for the first XI in recent weeks, completed the Professional Development League win in the first game since Harry Kewell’s dismissal as head coach.

Bradbury, who is the son of former Manchester City and Bournemouth player Lee Bradbury, plays a striker and is known for his pace.

The 18-year-old has spent three years with Pompey and found the net for the south coast club against Manchester City in the FA Youth Cup – one of 14 goals in 26 youth level appearances.

He is the latest player to be handed a trial in the Hornets under-23 set up, with former Arsenal youngster Tyrell Robinson featuring in a number of games.

Robinson was expected to sign a contract with the Vicarage Road before Kewell’s departure last Thursday.
