Watford Under-18s wrapped up a big 4-0 win over QPR in the Professional Development League on Saturday.

The Hornets overpowered their opponents and stormed two goals ahead inside a breathtaking opening two minutes, before Harry Forster added a third half an hour in.

With the tie over as a contest in the second half, Watford scored the only goal thoruhg Jesus Cruz Cabrera to pick up the points.

The win marked their fourth of the season at the fourth attempt, while QPR's unbeaten start was cut short.

There were less than 10 seconds on the clock when Watford took the lead, with Jubril Adedeji picking up a loose ball and rounding visiting keeper Marcin Brzozowski to score.

Within a minute QPR were shellshocked and found themselves two goals behind, when Adedeji turned provider to cross for Reece Stray to head beyond the goalkeeper and double their advantage.

Brzozowski was called into action to deny Forster soon after as Watford threatened to run away with the game, and the young Hornet then saw another effort fly over.

Adedeji limped off after a quarter of an hour but Forster soon made it three, firing beyond Brzozowski when played in down the Watford left.

An important point-blank block stopped QPR reducing the arrears just after the break, as the visitors improved markedly from a dreadful first-half showing.

Romeo Akinola curled an effort wide of Jamie Lacey's post before the Rs were denied a penalty when Mickell Platt looked to be bundled over, but the referee waved play on.

They had one of their own to defend in the dying minutes when Treon Johnson was hacked down, and dusted himself down to take the spot kick.

It was saved well by Brzozowski but Cruz Cabrera was on hand to tuck away the rebound and add the fourth goal.
