Watford are not in talks to add Arsenal all-time top scorer Thierry Henry to their backroom staff, the club have confirmed.
The Hornets had, along with West Ham, been linked by national media with an approach for the 38-year-old French international turned pundit and coach.
But the club told the Watford Observer they have not made an approach to Henry, who left the Arsenal youth backroom set-up earlier this week.
The once prolific striker departed from the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday after manager Arsene Wenger ruled he could not split coaching duties with media commitments at Sky Sports.
He tweeted last night: “I would like to thank Andries Jonker for offering me the chance to coach the U-18s at Arsenal, which I was honoured to accept.
“However, I respect Arsène Wenger’s decision and I want to wish their manager Kwame Ampadu, the boys and everyone at the club all the best for the forthcoming season.”
