WATFORD's chances of reaching the FA Cup semi-finals have received a sizeable boost after they were paired with Plymouth Argyle in today's (Monday's) quarter-final draw.

The Hornets will travel to Home Park on the weekend of March 10 and 11 for a replay of the 1984 semi-final which, of course, Graham Taylor's side won 1-0 at Villa Park to secure their only Cup final appearance to date.

However, Watford will be wary of the threat posed by the Pilgrims, who showed what they are capable of by beating Championship leaders Derby 2-0 on Saturday to reach the last eight. But Ian Holloway's side have yet to face top-flight opposition in the competition, having ended Barnet and Peterborough's hopes in the previous two rounds.

Plymouth are currently 11th in the Championship, and while they have only lost four of their 16 home league games to date, they have only picked up three points on five occasions at Home Park.

The draw in full is: Middlesbrough or West Bromwich Albion v Manchester United or Reading; Arsenal or Blackburn Rovers v Manchester City; Chelsea v Tottenham Hotspur; Plymouth Argyle v Watford.
