KRIS CHESNEY capped a superb week with a last-gasp try to help sink Sarries' Premiership play-off rivals Gloucester 24-22 at Vicarage Road on Sunday, February 18.
With one minute of time remaining, the Men in Black were staring defeat in the face until Chesney, who signed a new two-year deal in midweek, powered over the line to level the scores at 22-22.
Prolific fly-half Glen Jackson kept his nerve to fire over the touchline conversion and sent the 8,000 crowd into raptures.
Fijian winger Kemeli Ratuvou scored an early try for Sarries before Alex Brown hit back for the Cherry and Whites.
Jackson, who ended the day with 14 points, missed a couple of penalties before Ludovic Mercier kicked Gloucester into the lead.
Jackson and Mercier continued to trade kicks in the second half before he and Chesney turned the match on its head and secured Sarries their 13th win in 17 matches.
"I thought we were deserved winners," said Sarries boss Alan Gaffney. "Overall, I thought we played pretty well although we made a lot of errors and conceded a lot of penalties. We are still lacking a bit of accuracy to our game."
