Legendary goalkeeper Reginald 'Skilly' Williams died at home in Watford.

Not established asa goalkeeper until he turned professional at the age of 24 - he had played a variety of positions for previous clubs- Williams made 399 appearances for Watford either side of the Great War, in which he served on the Western Front.

Renowned for his bravery, Williams was ever-present in the Southern League-winning side of 1915, played in the first game at Vicarage Road and was the first Watford keeper to save a penalty in the Football League.

Great-grandchildren Grant Cornock and Daniel Grieves were on the club's books in the 1990s.
