Hornets scholar George Byers has followed Alex Jakubiak in signing a professional contract with the cluib.
Jakubiak’s pro deal was announced on Friday and midfielder Byers has also penned a two-year contract with Watford having the option of an additional year.
The Scotland youth international joined the Hornets at the age of seven and was part of the first-team squad which travelled to Italy for pre-season training last summer.
The Watford Observer first reported at the end of March that Jakubiak and Byers were two of four scholars who would be given professional contracts.
The Hornets refused to confirm the identity of the players at that stage but we understand central defenders Josh Doherty and Jorrell Johnson are also close to finalising pro deals.
Watford have also confirmed that Academy players Jazzi Barnum-Bobb, Bobson Bawling, Ollie Cox, Kurtis Cumberbatch, Chris Dillon, Ryan Hope and Daniel Wilks will be leaving the club when their scholarships end.
