Leeds United have been an unsuccessful in their appeal against Rodolph Austin’s red card, meaning he will be suspended for Saturday’s huge clash against Watford, along with team-mate El-Hadji Diouf.
The Jamaican international was sent off for “striking an opponent” in Saturday’s 2-1 defeat against Brighton & Hove Albion.
Leeds appealed the decision but an FA disciplinary committee has today upheld the red card and the player is now banned for three matches, alongside Diouf, who was also dismissed on Saturday.
Watford will be promoted to the Premier League on Saturday if they better Hull City’s result at home to Cardiff City.
