CHRISTOPHER SPENCER, of Croxley Green, wrote in: "I was interested in the article in the Watford Observer about the Grillo's, as I was an ice-cream boy, with Percy Grillo, from 1954 to around 1956.
"Percy and I would push the little ice cream barrows out of the yard up through Beechen Grove to our pitch outside the Chef restaurant on market days, before and after school.
"On Sundays, Percy and I travelled around north Watford and Garston in the ice cream van from street to street. Orders were taken for Christmas Day, when we would deliver the ice cream in the van."
