A REQUEST for memories of Sun Engraving and Sun Printers to use on a website has been made.
"Sun Printers came into being in 1945 when the printing operations of its predecessor, Sun Engraving, were sold. The accomplishments of Sun Engraving and Sun Printers and of the men and women who worked there deserve to be remembered and given their due place in history.
"The proposed Sun website will document the story of Sun Engraving from its inception in 1897, and of Sun Printers from its creation in 1945. We hope to collect and publish on the website as much information on these companies as we can obtain from letters, memoranda, and photographs to personal anecdotes and reminiscences. Because it is always the people who make the company, we want, in particular, to record your recollections.
"In order to do this, we will need your help. Each individual's input will only add to the success of the project because, regardless of the type of work you performed at Sun or how long you worked there, your memories will be unique and that makes them important.
"If you can't supply information yourself, please pass this appeal on to anyone you know who may be able to help us."
