Memories of a newsagents in Lower High Street around 1950 were requested.
R Wiggs of Links Way, Croxley Green, wrote: THE shop was most likely Arthur Grimsdell. He had two shops, one on the alleyway leading to The Crescent, his other shop was opposite the gates of the cemetery in Vicarage Road.
He was a famous footballer who played for Tottenham Hotspur and England before the Second World War.
There was, however, another shop towards the High Street Station called Cramers, the only other two in the high street were WH Smiths and Frenchies opposite Benskins.
