Children from Toad Hall Nursery in Watford laid their hands on an Olympic torch today, following a visit from a torchbearer.
Errol Mckellar, whose grandson attends the nursery in Hempstead Road , popped in this morning to show children a replica torch.
Mr Mckellar, who carried the torch on July 21 from Stoke Newington to Rectory Road, was nominated by Hackney borough for his services to the community and contribution to sports.
As a registered mentor, member and coach of Leighton Orient Football Club, he has helped youngsters in Hackney, guiding them and giving advice.
This morning he inspired children from the Watford nursery, who were making their own Olympic torches, following a celebratory mini sports day.
Gemma Bunting, deputy manager for the nursery, said: "Errol Mckellar's visit was really inspirational.
"We definitely have some future Olympians here, they've all shown a competitive streak during their mini sports day."
