An elderly Watford man has been left in intensive care following a car crash in Stanmore on Saturday.
The 74-year-old, named locally as former jockey Joe Burrell, suffered a heart attack after being involved in a crash with two cars at the junction between The Broadway and Church Road at approximately 7.25pm.
It is the second serious crash between cars and a pedestrian in less than a year at the junction, prompting residents and traders to call for a pedestrian crossing to be built.
