A man has been left seriously injured after being attacked from behind by a group of people in the early hours of the morning in West Watford.

The victim, in his 30s, was taken to Watford General Hospital following the assault in Farraline Road at the junction with Wiggenhall Road just before 4am on Thursday, July 26.

Police said it is unknown how many people were involved in the attack.

Detective Constable Jennifer Stoddart said: "I would appeal to anyone who was in the area between these times and saw what happened, heard anything suspicious or saw anyone acting suspiciously to contact police with information."
