A mother tried to smash her car window today in a desperate bid to free her children locked in a hot car.
Garston firefighters were called to North Approach in Watford to free two young girls that were trapped in an Audi.
The youngsters’ mum had locked her car keys in the boot and the car automatically locked at 12:34pm.
The firefighters had to remove one of the car windows to free the children who were said to be very hot and distressed.
