Wheelchair users will be able to visit Bushey Manor Field with ease, following the installation of a disabled access gate.
Hertfordshire County Council has allocated £1,150 from its locality budget to Bushey Manor Field Trust to install the gate at the popular open space.
It replaces kissing gates, and should also improve access for parents and carers with young children in prams and pushchairs.
Bushey Manor Field Trust is a registered charity formed to preserve an open space for the enjoyment of the people of Bushey. Volunteers will help fit the gate.
Locality budgets were launched in July 2009, with funding to be used for worthy social, economic or environmental causes in Hertfordshire.
