A talk on Uganda and its natural beauty were central to this month’s meeting of Abbots Langley Flower Arrangement Society.

On Thursday, January 26, guest speaker Geoff Clinton presented an illustrated lecture on his trips to east African country.

As part of the talk, members were shown pictures of Ugandan wildlife, at the meeting in the Henderson Hall, Abbots Langley High Street.

The talk followed the society’s annual general meeting, which group secretary Sylvia Clinton said, showed the organisation is flourishing.

She said: “Despite other flower arrangement societies closing, Abbots Langley is doing well in the present economic climate. Once again a full programme of demonstrations and associated events will be held in 2012.”

The society’s next meeting will be held on Thursday, February 23 at 7pm at the Henderson Hall when guest speaker Fiona Franklin will give a demonstration themed on Calendar Girls.

Entry is free for members; visitors pay £4.50 at the door.
