A trio of robbers who attacked a man in Bushey with a metal bar before stealing his phone and wallet have all been sentenced to prison.

Gianmarco Ippolito, Edward Nadif and Vincent Oladukun were sentenced at St Albans Crown Court on Thursday for the attack which happened in Vale Road in May 1.

Police said the 26-year-old victim had been walking home to Watford in the early hours of the morning when the three pulled up in a car and threatened him.

After handing over his wallet and phone the victim was then assaulted with metal bar before other items were stolen from him.

The group then made off to Harrow where another man was robbed in a similar fashion in Walton Road, Harrow.

Hertfordshire Constabulary said the vehicle they were driving was later found crashed in a ditch in Lower Kingswood, Surrey.

This enabled officers to place it in Bushey at the time of the first robbery using the Automatic Number Plate Recognition system.

Ippolito, 20, of Templeman Road, London, and Nadif, 24, from Portland Road, Hayes, both pleaded guilty to robbery and were sentenced to four years and three years, three months in prison respectively.

Vincent Oladukun, 30, from Victoria Road, Acton, was found guilty of robbery and sentenced to six years in prison.
