Pictures of a double decker bus stuck on the green in Croxley Green have been sent in by Watford Observer readers.
The Arriva vehicle became stuck on the grass near the Coach and Horses pub, blocking the road, at about 3pm on Friday.
William Coppitters was walking home from Rickmansworth school when he saw the bus, and managed to take several pictures of the effort to move it off the green.
He said: “I saw a double decker bus on top of grass out side the pub and it was blocking half of the road and the whole of the pub road.
“I saw the people destroying the green by digging up the grass and mud around the bus wheels attempting to get the bus unstuck. This went on for about an hour or so.”
Other pictures were sent in by Twitter and email by Charlotte Mackie and Steph Yates.
Bruce Crick from Croxley Green said: “I saw it there at about 2.45pm when I drove past, and it had gone when I returned at 4.30pm.
“It was parked outside the pub near the road, partly on the green and occupying part of the road.
“A lot of grass and resulting mud was churned up - I trust Arriva will pay up for damage and repairs to the green?”
More to follow.
