An Abbots Langley restaurant owner has celebrated winning Caterer of the Year 2011, by throwing a party.
Councillors, MPs and well-wishers all gathered at the Forest of India in Abbots Langley High Street to help owner Abdul Chowdhury celebrate the win yesterday evening.
Mr Chowdhury was celebrating winning the accolade in the Greater London (west) region.
The title, given by the Bangladesh Caterers Association (BCA), was presented to Mr Chowdhury at the Park Plaze Hotel in Westminster last month when he received a certificate and a gold coloured statuette, which is now displayed in the eatery.
At the event last night, Three Rivers District councillors Stephen Giles-Medhurst and Chris Whately-Smith, MPs Richard Harrington and Anne Main all took to the stage to praise Mr Chowdhury’s achievement.
Guests were then treated to a series of Bangladeshi curries and live music.
