The Harlequin will be bathed in red light next week when the shopping centre shows its public support for the British Heart Foundation’s Red for Heart campaign.
Lights at the centre’s Ketts Mall entrance, oppostite McDonald’s, will have red gel fitted over them to provide an appropriate scarlet hue.
The BHF Red for Heart initiative is being co-ordinated by the Watford Heart Town Group – Watford is one of a limited number of designated “Heart Towns” in Britain.
Mayor Dorothy Thornhill will officially turn on the lights at 1pm on Wednesday to signal the start of the campaign and BHF volunteers will be on hand throughout the day to hand out advice about maintaining a healthy heart and collecting donations for the charity.
