Cyclists in north Watford will be able to get their bikes security marked for free at a police run event next month.
Representatives from the Safer Neighbourhood team will be offering security markings between 11am and 2pm on Wednesday, February 15 at Asda in St Albans Road, Watford.
Each bike will have the owner's postcode and house number engraved onto it, which will be protected with a lacquer varnish, and a sticker to say it has been marked.
PCSO Nicola Peatey said: “I’m sure there are many people who were given bikes as Christmas presents so now’s the opportunity to get them security marked for free so if the bike is ever stolen, it’s more likely to be returned if it is recovered by police.”
Police will also be on hand to give advice on how to keep bikes safe.
