A man in his 40s was hospitalised yesterday evening, following a car crash in Abbots Langley.
Police, paramedics and firefighters were called to the junction of Tylersfield and College Road, close to the roundabout by Langley Lane, at about 7pm, following reports of an accident.
Two cars were involved; a silver Vauxhall Vectra estate and silver Ford Fusion.
Firefighters removed the roof of the Vauxhall to try and free the driver who had back injuries.
Crew commander Lewis Deradour said: “We worked with the ambulance crew to get a spinal board in so we could get him out straight. He was suffering pain up his leg and into his back.
“It took us about half an hour.”
The Vauxhall driver was taken to Watford General Hospital where he was treated for a minor neck injury. The driver of the other vehicle escaped the crash without any serious injuries.
Motorists were turned away from College Road until the accident was cleared at 8.37pm.
