Police, paramedics and firefighters are currently attending an accident in Abbots Langley.

Witnesses reported a crash at the junction of College Road and Tylersfield, close to the roundabout at Langley Lane, at about 7pm.

Two cars are said to have been involved; a silver Vauxhall Vectra estate and silver Ford Fusion.

Firefighters removed the roof of the Vauxhall to try and free the driver who had back injuries.

Crew commander Lewis Deradour said: “We worked with the ambulance crew to get a spinal board in so we could get him out straight. He was suffering pain up his leg and into his back.

“It took us about half an hour.”

The driver of the other vehicle escaped the crash without any serious injuries.

Motorists were being turned away from College Road until the accident was cleared at 8.37pm.
