Fire fighters were called to a blazing flat in South Oxhey in the early hours of this morning.
Crews from Watford, Garston and Rickmansworth were called to a bedsit in a block of flats in Oxhey Drive at 1.40am.
Four fire fighters with breathing apparatus tackled the fire and no body was hurt.
Lee Hayward, from Watford Fire Station, said: “The flat was badly damaged by the fire, it was so hot the window unit fell out and the concrete was coming off the walls.
“If you open your door and the communal lobby is smoke logged it's best to stay in your flat and wait for us to come to you.”
