Visitors to the Town Hall in Watford will now have to pay and display to park their cars.
In an attempt to crack down on the number of people using the car park incorrectly, Watford Borough Council will be introducing pay and display machines from February 13.
Danielle Negrello, customer services section head at the council, said; “We are doing this to help genuine visitors to park.
“At the moment the visitor parking bays are restricted to a 30 minute stay.
“Unfortunately it is clear some vehicles are being left for longer and not for visiting the Town Hall, which prevents genuine visitors from parking.
“We are also encouraging visitors to consider different modes of transport.”
Drivers will be allowed to park for two hours, inclusive of the initial free 30 minutes, between 8am and midnight.
