Confusing road markings on a roundabout between Watford and Bushey have been redone after complaints from drivers.
Motorists had been left nonplussed by two sets of arrows on Hartspring Lane, coming up to the junction with the A41 North Western Avenue, by Toby Carvery.
The markings, which were painted before Christmas, gave conflicting instructions with the first set indicating drivers could go right only in the right lane and straight on in the left.
The second set of arrows indicated that drivers could go left only in left lane and straight on and right in the right lane.
Workmen have now replace the second set of arrows with three separate staggered lanes.
One driver who complained about the markings, Stefanio Whittall, who uses the roundabout regularly when he visits his parents in Bushey, said he was pleased they had been altered.
He also praised the speed with which the council had rectified the mistake.
Contractors were on the site the Monday after the complaint was made.
Mr Whittall said: “As long as it is not confusing that should make it safer. It is good that it got done quickly.”
