Rumours about the Chorleywood Branch of the Royal British Legion closing down are “complete and utter rubbish”.
The Chorleywood and Chenies branch of the legion was said to be facing the axe due to the retirement of the current chairman and lack of suitable candidates to fill the position.
Olive Bovingdon from the legion said: “It's complete and utter rubbish, I've no idea where the rumour came from.
“We've got a new chairman now, who is due to be elected at our meeting in March, and everything is going smoothly.”
Visit the Watford Observer website in March for an interview with the new chairman.
