Police have released the CCTV image of two men they want to speak to after a woman was conned into handing over her bank details and had money stolen from her account.
The victim, in her 50s, had previously lost her purse in Watford General Hospital, which contained her bank cards.
Then on December 21 she received a call from a man claiming to be from her bank who convinced her to hand over the PIN number.
Police said money was then stolen from her account.
PC Mohamed Huzair, who is investigating and said: “I would appeal to anyone who recognises these two people to contact me. It may be they were witness to something or have vital information which would assist the investigation.
“I would also like to remind people never to give their PIN to anyone. People who call out of the blue asking for this information will never genuinely be from your bank.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Huzair by telephoning the Herts Police non-emergency number 101 quoting crime reference number C1/11/6910.
Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
