An on-going dispute over the use of a Bushey nature reserve has resulted in the matter being called in for scrutiny by Hertsmere Council.
Fisher’s Field, in Fisher’s Close, has been used as an area of wildlife conservation since it was handed nature reserve status in 1998.
Councillor Steve O’Brien (Bushey North, Conservative) has argued for some time that the land should be used for allotments.
The council recently confirmed the matter will be assessed independently by officers at the authority’s civic offices.
