As the six-month anniversary approaches of the crash which killed a Croxley Green father Jason Crane, police have renewed their appeal for information about a man who may hold answers to what happened that day.

Officers want to talk to 22-year-old old Thomas O’Leary, also known as Tommy, from Carmelite Road in Harrow, in connection with the crash, which happened on Tylers Way, Watford, on Saturday, July 16, 2011, at approximately 1.20pm.

Mr Crane, a 40-year-old father-of two, died at the scene of the crash after a silver Audi hit the white van he was a passenger in.

Police said three young men were seen leaving the scene before emergency services arrived.

Since then, five people have been arrested in connection with this investigation including a 19-year-old man from Dunstable, a 45-year-old man from Watford, a 16-year-old boy from Watford, an 18-year-old man from Harrow and a 17-year-old from Harrow.

All are on police bail as enquiries continue.

However police still want to talk to O’Leary, who is known to have connections to Bushey, Watford and Harrow.

Inspector Andy Piper, senior investigating officer, said: “At six months since the collision that killed family man Jason Crane, we still need to track down Thomas O’Leary.

“If anyone knows of Thomas’s whereabouts or if anyone has any information about him, I would ask you to get in contact with us as soon as possible.

“I am also still appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision and still hasn’t yet spoken to police to contact us.”

Anyone with information about Mr O’Leary’s whereabouts is asked to telephone police via the Hertfordshire Constabulary non-emergency number on 101.
