Bushey and Oxhey Infant School was praised for the outstanding care, guidance and support it gives to pupils in its latest Ofsted report.
The Bushey Hall Drive school was handed an overall rating of ‘good’ by inspectors - one below the top mark of ‘outstanding’- in the report published on January 4.
Following their visit in December, government inspectors said the school “fosters children’s enthusiasm and enjoyment of learning, independence and thinking skills particularly well”.
The school, catering for four to seven-year-olds, was also handed a ‘good’ rating for its capacity to improve further.
The inspectors did highlight areas of potential improvement, including development among teachers to “exploit creative opportunities in lessons” and the introduction of regular meetings to monitor pupils’ progress.
